Professional Qualifications

Richard holds bachelor’s degrees from California State University Long Beach in Accounting and Finance.
He has also completed hundreds of hours in other professional training including graduate work in taxation. Richard is a CPA and a Member of the AICPA and CSCPA.

Professional Experience

Richard founded Richard Welling & Co. in 1988 after working as a Tax Manager at a “Big Five” firm. He also has served as Treasurer and CFO for various non-profit organizations during his years in practice. Richard currently serves as Treasurer of Cornerstone Christian Center and is on the Professional Advisory Committee of Torrance Memorial Hospital. He is also a CEO member of Vistage, and a member of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce.

Richard has provided tax consulting to companies in various industries including real estate, investment management, oil and gas, manufacturing, health care, technology, entertainment and other service businesses. He has extensive experience providing services to affiliated groups with international and multi-state tax needs. He has worked with high net worth individuals, S-corporations and multi-tiered partnerships.
